SOCAMQ : What is the First Nations Youth Network for?
A : The Network is a means of communication fostering interactions between young people from the First Nations and Inuit of Quebec and from all around the world! The network keeps young people informed about the activities and events which take place inside and outside their community.
Q : What proportion of the population do young Natives embody?
A : Nearly two-thirds of Natives in Canada are less than 30 years old, and around a third of the residents in the communities are below 15 years of age. (Radio-Canada, 2002, http://www.radio-canada.ca/nouvelles/dossiers/autochtones/donnees.html)

A: Of course! We encourage you to forward information on events, activities or initiatives of any type, conform to our rules and regulations.
Q: Who can become a member of the First Nations Youth Network?
A: Anyone who is interested. Membership is free.

A: To become a member, please visit the "Registration" section.
Q : How to set up a Youth Committee?
A : The Youth Network gives you stepwise advice on how to set up a Youth Committee. Please refer to the document "Steps in setting up a Youth Committee".
Q : What is the background of the First Nations Youth Network ?
a : During the First Nations of Quebec Socioeconomic Forum held in Mashteuiatsh in 2006, an engagement was taken to provide young Natives with the means to communicate and collaborate in order to establish concertation between the Youth in communities and in city areas. A post of Youth Coordinator was created in the office of the Secretariat of the Assembly of First Nations of Quebec and Labrador (SAFNQL).
